A building official, assistant official, field inspector, plans examiner, fire safety inspector, or other federal, state, county, or municipal employee actively engaged in the administration and enforcement of building, housing, zoning, and fire regulations.
A member of an organization, association, institute, corporation, partnership, company, or manufacturer, an architect, engineer, builder, contractor, planner, or other related person interested in the objectives of this chapter.
A retired building official, assistant building official, field inspector, fire safety inspector, or other federal, state, county, or municipal employee formerly engaged in the administration and enforcement of building, housing, zoning, and fire regulations upon payment of dues at one half the rate established herein for active members.
Any individual who has rendered outstanding service to the Chapter, or any person who is a new member to the ICC, and who is recommended by the Board of Directors and confirmed by a majority of the members present at a regular meeting.

Our Mission

To maintain health and safety of the public by providing enforcement services of the Florida Building Codes with the highest professional quality, knowledge and responsibility to the citizens of the areas served by the Nature Coast Chapter of the Building Officials Association of Florida.

Membership Benefits

  • Provide Continuing Education Courses for Contractors, Inspectors and Design professionals.
  • Networking and sharing ideas between the building industry professionals.
  • Professional development with round table discussions on building codes, construction, inspections, code requirements, etc.
  • Scholarships awarded to deserving Nature Coast Chapter members or their dependents and/or relatives. (The amount and distribution depends entirely on our fund raising efforts through the annual Golf Outing, Training Sessions, etc.)

The BOAF Florida Building Code Seminar provides 14 hours of approved continuing education designed to meet State mandated licensing requirements. (total of 14 hrs. for contractors and code officials). Whether you are a code official, contractor or a architect or engineer, attending one of BOAF’s 2 day seminar programs may satisfy some or all of your state-mandated training and continuing education requirements for licensure.
